Summer reading starts now!

I’m excited to announce my annual “Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Reading Program for students entering Kindergarten through 5th grade across the 99th District.

The challenge is simple:

– Read 8 books this summer

– Submit your completed reading list by August 1, 2026

– Earn a Certificate of Recognition and a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone

Books counted for other reading programs can also be included, and books over 150 pages may count as two books toward the total.

Summer reading forms are available at local libraries throughout the district and at my district office.
