Rep. Moore Welcomes Constituents and Recognizes Brown County Student-Athletes
SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Kyle Moore continues to welcome visitors from across the 99th District to the State Capitol, including students, community members, and local leaders.
These visits offer constituents the opportunity to engage directly with the legislative process, learn more about state government, and witness firsthand the work being done in Springfield.
During session this week on the House floor, Rep. Moore recognized a group of outstanding student-athletes from Brown County whose accomplishments have made their community proud. The Brown County 7th-grade girls’ basketball team was recognized for winning the 2025 IESA Class 2A State Championship, while the 8th-grade team earned second place at the state level. Rep. Moore also recognized the Brown County High School football team for its historic season, as runner-up in the 2025 IHSA Class 1A State Championship, marking the first time in program history that the team advanced to the state championship game.
“I always enjoy seeing residents from the 99th District at the Capitol,” said Rep. Moore. “Teaching our youth more about how they can get involved and about the work that happens here is one of my favorite parts of the job.”
Moore encourages schools, organizations, and community members interested in visiting the Capitol to contact his office to schedule a visit.
Rep. Moore calls for Accountability, Workforce Growth Amid State Mismanagement
QUINCY, IL – State Representative Kyle Moore is raising concerns about ongoing failures across Illinois state agencies, emphasizing that the state’s challenges stem from mismanagement, not a lack of funding.
“Illinois families continue to hear that the solution is more money,” said Rep. Moore. “But with one of the highest tax burdens in the country and spending increasing each year, it is clear the issue is how the government is being managed.”
As a member of the legislative committee overseeing health care licensing, Moorehas seen firsthand the delays at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, where healthcare workers are waiting months for licenses.
“We need to ensure people can find good-paying jobs and build their future right here in Illinois,” Moore said. “When opportunities are limited and there are delays with licenses, we risk losing families and talent to other states.”
Moore emphasized the need for accountability and better oversight of existing programs.
Rep. Moore Reminds Constituents to Make Their Voices Heard by Filing Witness Slips
Witness slips are a vital piece of the legislative process. Before a bill is heard in committee, the chairperson will read who has submitted witness slips and whether they support or oppose the bill. This helps inform me and other legislators as to where Illinoisans and organizations stand, allowing us to make informed decisions when voting.
Step-by-step guide to filing a witness slip:
- Go to www.ilga.gov. You will need to know the bill number and the committee which will be hearing the bill.
- Find the Senate Schedules or House Hearings
- Scroll to Hearing Schedules and select a hearing by Today, Week, or Month
- Click on Details for the specific hearing
- Click on Create Witness Slip
- Fill out and submit the Witness Slip
If you have any questions about filling out a witness slip, please contact our office.
